HIRING
There are three steps to our hiring process.
Step 1: Apply
As a first step in your job search, try chatting with our personal recruiting assistant Chester Cheetah. You may ask him about anything related to PepsiCo's business, culture, jobs and more. Click the chat icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen to start a conversation.
Once you've identified an opportunity of interest, we invite you to submit an application via our Candidate Zone, an online portal where you can keep your profile up to date, apply to jobs and review your application status. After you apply, there may be prescreening text questions and/or one-way video questions, or you will be contacted by a member of our internal recruitment team who will review your credentials against the requirements for the role you've expressed interest in. You will then be contacted regarding next steps.
If you require reasonable accommodations, please email our candidate support team.
Please note: Full Covid-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment dependent on role and country. Please connect with your recruiter for specific information.
Step 2: Assess
At PepsiCo, we offer various options for two-way communication during the hiring process. As a first step, we may initiate dialogue with you via telephone or video interview. Depending on the role, location and timeliness, you may then be invited for additional virtual or in-person interviews. Due to COVID-19, however, most interviews will take place virtually to ensure the safety and convenience of our candidates and associates and help make our planet a little greener. Virtual interview also allows greater flexibility for both our candidates and employees.
For some roles, we may require you to complete assessments. Our assessment program, PepHire, is designed to create a more objective and globally consistent hiring process for PepsiCo and utilizes job-relevant assessments to evaluate a candidate's foundational, professional and leadership capability. Results from the assessments provide additional data to consider when evaluating your resume, critical experiences, technical/functional skillset, and interview responses.
We recognize an interview should serve a mutual benefit. We invite your questions. Please be sure to contact your recruitment contact with any questions or concerns during the assessment and interview process.
Step 3: Offer & On-boarding
It's decision time. Our team works equally hard to ensure the right hiring decision is made for you and PepsiCo. If selected for the role, our internal recruitment team will contact you to review the offer letter details, benefits and more information on your new career at PepsiCo. If you are not selected for a particular role after your interview, you will receive communication from a member of our team.
Once you've accepted an offer at PepsiCo, you will be asked to complete important forms to start our pre-onboarding process as quickly as possible. These forms are available in the Candidate Zone right where your application and offer were presented. We have a great, virtual, onboarding experience up next – so be on the lookout for emails and invitations!
Interview Tips
Success at PepsiCo centers around five leadership principles we call the GREAT5 - our framework for what it takes to be a great leader.
- Growth: reflects a person's curiosity and ability to learn from novel situations by constantly pushing outside their comfort zone and helping others to learn and develop.
- Relationships: involves building and maintaining trusting relationships across organizational boundaries by modeling integrity, transparency and authenticity, and being respectful and inclusive of others.
- Execution: is the energy, enthusiasm and inspiration an individual brings to motivate others to action and to accomplish ambitious goals. It is simplifying complexity to drive quality results.
- Agility: involves adapting a person's style and approach to an ever-changing business environment, managing pressure, and embracing and championing change to drive transformation.
- Thinking: reflects how an employee brings in and uses external insights (business, customer or consumer, industry, global), thinks creatively, and takes a long-term and holistic perspective to make informed decisions.
The GREAT5 applies to all employees regardless of their position. During your interview, you will be asked to provide specific examples of your academic and professional accomplishments that are aligned with these competencies.
COME PREPARED
KNOW OUR BUSINESS: Not everyone can survive and thrive in every environment. This is why the overall fit between you and the organization is so important. The interview will give us both a chance to examine this fit and help to ensure a successful relationship. The interview will be most effective if you are yourself, speak with truth and candor and show your personality.
KNOW THE JOB: Make sure to read and understand the job description in its entirety. Look at the job responsibilities and make notes on how you have done what the team is looking for, or how you would accomplish those tasks if you got the job — have these examples ready to share during your interview. If you have any questions about anything on the job description, make sure to ask your recruiter beforehand. That's what we're here for!
PREPARE FOR THE INTERVIEW: Most of your interviews will take place virtually. This is the safest and most convenient way for us to get to know you. We understand that virtual interviews may still be new to some, so we recommend preparing for this in advance.
No matter the format, most interview questions will be behavioral-based, so it's important to familiarize yourself with the S-T-A-R method. This situation, task, action, result format is a technique used by our employees to gather relevant information about a specific capability that the role requires. You should come prepared with examples from your past experience. You can also supplement your resume and past experience by sharing any work samples, presentations or visuals during your interview.
Keep in mind you're in the process of making a decision that will impact your career for many years to come. Take this opportunity to ask questions about PepsiCo's involvement in the community and how we develop our organization, people and vision. Ask us questions that are important to you. We're passionate about our business and more than willing to share our insights to help you make the best decision.
